Tantra Massage on King's Day in Amsterdam: Plan Around It

On the twenty-seventh of April the whole city turns orange and very loud. A tantra session booked for that night can be the quietest room in Amsterdam, as long as it is arranged with the date in mind.

Set down on

King's Day is the one date in the Amsterdam calendar that visitors plan entire trips around. The canals fill with boats, the streets become one long flea market, and music runs from late morning until well after dark. By evening, many guests return to their hotel sunburnt, hoarse and wanting nothing louder than a closed door. A tantra massage on King's Day in Amsterdam is a way to end that kind of day, but the date changes a few things about booking it.

A peak date, and what that means

The house treats King's Day as a peak date. Every booking for a peak date is confirmed with a deposit of half the price, whether you are new to the house or have booked many times before. For one client with one therapist, ninety minutes cost €270, so €135 goes ahead and €135 is paid on arrival; two hours cost €360, split into €180 and €180. The deposit is paid by card, Revolut, Wise or crypto once the office has accepted. It cannot be sent by bank transfer, PayPal or cash, and it is not returned if the evening is cancelled.

The full reasoning sits in the cancellation policy. The short version: on a night when every therapist's hours are in demand, a held hour is an hour turned down for someone else.

Book earlier than you would on an ordinary night

On most evenings a message sent at nine can bring a therapist to your door before ten. On King's Day the roster fills sooner, so writing a few days ahead, or at least in the morning, gives you a wider choice of therapist and time. Once confirmed, the arrival is the usual forty to sixty minutes anywhere central, and the office will tell you plainly if the hour you asked for is already taken.

If you book in advance and your plans change, one move to another date within fourteen days is allowed when requested more than twenty-four hours ahead. A move asked for on the day itself counts as a cancellation.

Choosing the hour

The streets are at their busiest in the afternoon and early evening. Late sessions, starting at ten or eleven, usually suit the day better: you have had time to shower and eat, the noise outside has dropped, and there is nothing left on the programme. A session starting after midnight costs exactly the same as one starting at noon.

Settling after a loud day

A day in the crowds leaves the body wired even when it feels tired. That is the state a slow tantra session is built for, but it helps to give it a head start. Drink water through the afternoon, not only beer. Eat something simple before the session. Take a long warm shower and lower the lights before she knocks, and close the window if the street below is still celebrating.

The opening of the session will probably take longer than usual, because breathing takes a while to slow after a day like that. This is why two hours is often a better choice on King's Day than ninety minutes. The guide to preparing for a tantra massage has more on getting the room and yourself ready.

A few practical notes

Many streets in the old centre close to cars for the day, so give the full address in your first message, including the building entrance if it is not on the main street. If a quieter corner nearby is easier for meeting, say so. Keep your phone near you until the therapist arrives, because the office may need to confirm a detail such as the room number. Wear something comfortable rather than the orange shirt. If your hotel asks visitors to sign in, that is normal and quick.

Orange shirts are optional, but being twenty-one or older is not. Everything else is simple: a warm room, a clear head, and a door that stays closed on the loudest night of the spring. To see who might come, browse the therapists and mention a name in your message.

Where the reading
can go from here

A journal note is kept short on purpose, one thought held only as long as it stays useful, while the longer pieces, the women who give the sessions and the plain figures each wait a single page away.

The long readings

The guides

Where a note lingers on a single detail, each guide follows one question all the way down, from the tempo of the breath to the way a hotel room is readied, and the shelf of guides keeps them together.

The practitioners

Who might knock

Every one of the forty-five women on call has a page of her own, showing the quarter she lives in and a few unhurried lines on how she likes a session to open, gathered under the practitioners.

The figures

What the time costs

€180 buys the hour whether it falls at noon or at three in the morning, €360 an hour brings two therapists together for one guest, and €1,250 covers an eight-hour night with one, all of it set out on every therapist profile.

Close the page,
open the evening

Write with the hotel or the street and the length you have in mind; in about ten minutes the reply names a practitioner and the moment she expects to knock, which in the centre is usually forty to sixty minutes later.
