The two words get used as though they were interchangeable. They are not, and the difference is not intensity. It is the shape of the hour: one is organised around a direction, the other around duration.
This question comes up more than any other at the point of booking, usually phrased as a worry about ordering the wrong thing. It is worth answering properly, because the two formats genuinely differ, and because the common assumption about how they differ is wrong.
The assumption is that tantra is the gentler one and sensual is the stronger one — that they sit on a single scale with tantra at the restrained end. They do not sit on a scale at all. They are shaped differently.
A sensual massage is organised around a direction. It builds. There is a shape to the hour that moves from one condition to another, and the satisfaction of it comes in part from that movement being legible — you can feel where it is going, and the going there is most of the point.
A tantra massage is organised around duration. It does not build so much as spread. Attention keeps being returned to the whole body rather than gathered anywhere, and the session is arranged so that no particular moment is more important than any other. If a sensual massage is a line, this is a surface.
That difference produces a second one, which is what most people actually notice. In a sensual massage the clock is on your side: an hour is a complete shape. In a tantra massage the clock is the constraint, because dispersal takes time to do. An hour of it is a sketch. Ninety minutes is where the format starts behaving the way it is meant to.
Ask what you want the evening to have been. If you want an experience with a clear arc — something that starts, develops and concludes inside a defined stretch of time — the sensual format does that cleanly and does not need to be dressed up in another vocabulary.
If what you actually want is for time to stop behaving like time for a while, the tantra format is built for that and the sensual one is not. People who book it a second time almost always describe the appeal the same way: not what happened, but how long it seemed to take.
There is also a practical filter. If you are arriving late, tired, and aware that you have a morning, the shorter shape is the kinder choice. If the evening is already clear and nothing is waiting on the other side of it, the longer one repays the room you have given it.
Almost everything else. Both are outcall, delivered to your hotel room or apartment across central Amsterdam. Both are drawn from the same roster of forty-five therapists, and most of them work in both registers. Both are available at any hour, with no night, weekend or travel surcharge anywhere inside the ring. Both are priced from the same ladder — one hour at 180 euro, ninety minutes at 270, two hours at 360 — which you can read in full on the prices page. Payment is on arrival, in cash in any major currency at the day's rate, by card, or in crypto.
And in both cases the therapist is reading you rather than performing a routine. That is the shared foundation. What changes between the two is the question she is holding while she reads: in one, where is this going; in the other, how do we stay here longer.
If you are still unsure when you write, say so. Describing the evening you want is more useful than naming a technique, and it is what most people do anyway. Bookings are confirmed within about ten minutes, and there is no charge for changing your mind about the format before the session starts.
