More likely to sit down for a moment than to begin, Celia lets the opening of an evening stay ordinary for a while. Spanish or English, both unhurried.

She has a good instinct for when an hour ought to have been ninety minutes, and says so once, quietly, before anything starts. Canal hotels and apartments in roughly equal measure, and she is as willing at four in the morning as at eight in the evening. Hands are what she notices first, whether they have let go of anything yet, and the tantra begins there rather than at the door. Her whole hour is long and deliberate, and she never glances at a clock during it.

Celia decides which bookings she takes and may decline any of them; she sets the limits for what a session includes, says what they are, and may end a visit at any point, as the terms set out.
